Pastor Doane Brubaker and his wife, Sharon, enjoy their three young adult children.  Jeff, Sarah and Krista were raised in the Morton community and the First Mennonite congregation. 

 
His vision in life is to be a person living on God’s agenda, enjoying the kind of meaningful life Jesus Christ wants to provide for everyone who walks with him.  His passion as a pastor is assisting other people to find their greatest pleasure in living on God’s agenda, helping them discover purpose and joy through teaching God’s Word and encountering God in worship.

Prior to accepting a call to join the ministry at First Mennonite in 1994, he served two other congregations, one in East Peoria, Illinois and one in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.  He is a native of Elkhart County, Indiana and Sharon grew up near York, Pennsylvania.  His formal education includes bachelor and master’s degrees from Fort Wayne Bible College and Evangelical Theological Seminary.
