PURE IMITATION

PURE IMITATION
One recent evening at VBS, the lesson encouraged kids to imitate the faith of the Centurion in Matthew 8:5-13.  Imitation is not a hard lesson, especially for kids.  They love to play “Simon Says” or to suddenly stop like a statute when the leader says “Freeze!”
The Centurion displayed faith in Jesus by believing that Jesus could heal his servant simply by saying the word.   The Centurion believed Jesus could answer the request even if Jesus wasn’t physically present at the need.  All it took was telling Jesus and having faith.
Today, we all can imitate that same Centurion-like faith.  When we know of a need, all it takes is getting the word to Jesus.  Having faith in the power and authority of Jesus can change everything.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonians and said:  “You became imitators of us and of the Lord, …And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.” 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7
We know children will imitate their parents.  Blessed are the parents wise enough to imitate the Lord.  Let's all be like the Centurion and get the word to Jesus, then in faith, believe and trust that Jesus will answer.
