Reaching New Heights

Reaching New Heights
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10  “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.”
This time of year, it’s not uncommon to see Canadian Geese flying overhead.
They are migrating thousands of miles south for the winter.  If one tried to fly alone, they could never make it to their destination.   Geese need each other!
Scientists have identified that when geese fly in formation, each bird flapping its wings creates an uplift for the bird that follows. Together the whole flock can fly over 70 percent further than if they fly alone.
This phenomenon is an example of synergy.  Synergy is the cooperation of more people or elements working together to produce a combined result that is far greater than the sum of the results achieved separately.
The next time you see geese flying together, let it remind you of how God made people to work together as well.  Working together is a reflection of our triune God’s very nature.  People need each other!
When people harness the power of teamwork, they achieve substantially improved performance, higher output, and greater satisfaction.  May we always be a church working together.
When we join together as God’s family, we’re like geese honking in formation and going farther than we ever could alone!  Hope that makes you smile when you see and hear all those geese flying high and working together!
Hebrews 10:23-24  “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,”
