Easter is Coming

Easter is almost here! Children have thoughts of countless plastic Easter eggs on the lawn filled with pleasant treats inside each of them. Some think about the school spring break that often happens the week before Easter. I remember thinking about the great sale on candy that happens right after Easter!
How do you think Jesus felt a few weeks before Easter?

Luke 9:51 (AMP) Now when the time was approaching for Him to be taken up [to heaven], He was determined to go to Jerusalem [to fulfill His purpose].
Matthew 20:17-19 Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified.”

Only love could persevere through the days that lay ahead. A steadfast commitment to remaining true and loyal no matter what. He knew that going through the pain will produce joy words can’t adequately express.

Hebrews 12:2 “For the joy set before him he endured the cross,”

Here is one way that we can be a little more like Jesus. Have even more endurance to go through whatever you are facing. Amidst having a friend about to betray Him, Jesus loved extravagantly, consistently, and eternally.
Whoever is a challenge in your life, let us choose to love extravagantly, consistently, and eternally.  One day, joy more than can be expressed will be your reward!
